Job Title: Interim Accounting Manager/Controller

Location: Louisville, KY

Compensation: $50 per hour 

Duration: 1-2 months 

About the Role:

We are seeking a strong, independent Interim Accounting Manager/Controller to join our team. This role will support our leadership team during a transitional period as we seek a permanent hire. The ideal candidate will have a background in the restaurant/hospitality/retail industry and will play a key role in maintaining financial operations and ensuring effective control systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the accounting operations of subsidiary corporations, focusing on control systems, transaction processing, and policy adherence.
• Collaborate with the Staff Accountant to ensure timely processing of accounts payable and bank reconciliations.
• Ensure prompt collection of accounts receivable.
• Assist with the weekly upload of payroll journals from our payroll provider.
• Guarantee timely debt payments.
• Maintain and update the chart of accounts.
• Implement and uphold a system of controls over accounting transactions.
• Assist in preparing timely and comprehensive financial statements.
• Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics.
• Analyze ongoing budgets and forecasts; report significant variances to management.
• Provide management cost reports and financial analyses, particularly for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in accounting management or controller roles within the restaurant/hospitality/retail industry.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with Restaurant 365 software is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
