Description

The Beach Company is looking for a Director of Information Technologies (IT) & Security to lead and direct our organization's IT department and align our IT strategy with our overall business goals. This key position is responsible for overseeing all IT matters within our Company, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, system compliance, and user support.

The Director of IT & Security role is a dynamic, ever-changing role that will require a willingness to constantly evaluate, monitor, assess and respond to the needs of the Company and changes in the industry.

Requirements

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, propose and implement IT strategies and solutions to help the Company meet its strategic objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the Company’s IT department, including hiring, training, evaluating performance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Maintain the Company’s systems and applications in an effort to ensure high reliability and functionality.
  • Assess and provide recommendations for equipment, networks, software and other solutions that provide improved functionality, productivity and/or reliability to the Company’s employees in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Manage and oversee the design, procurement, installation, and maintenance of necessary IT infrastructure (e.g., networks, servers, and software systems).
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of information and system security including assessing, maintaining, and adjusting security measures as needed to protect the Company’s data and systems, as well implementing appropriate employee training, policies, procedures, threat detection measures and incident response protocols.
  • Manage and oversee the Company’s help desk, including any external third-party component.
  • Participate in disaster recovery, data breach response and other business continuity planning.
  • Oversee and manage equipment procurement and all IT-related vendor/consultant relationships.
  • Develop, manage and implement an annual IT budget, with a goal of optimizing Company expenditures and investments.
  • Evaluate and ensure the Company’s adherence to applicable regulations and industry standards.
  • Update and develop IT policies and procedures as needed.
  • Assess, maintain, and update the Company’s existing or future technology equipment as needed.
  • Educate and train the Company’s employees on new IT initiatives and solutions in an effort to improve productivity and functionality while also maintaining a positive user experience.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with other Company departments and leaders to understand their overall objectives and corresponding IT requirements, needs and preferences.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to effectively lead, communicate with, and manage a team of employees.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on an ability to communicate technical concepts to non-IT professionals.
  • Subject-matter expertise with respect to computer systems, network structures, peripherals and components, cybersecurity, and data storage.
  • Strong technical background with knowledge of current and emerging technologies and industry developments (including artificial intelligence).
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft ecosystem, including both Office 365 and the SharePoint environment.
  • Experience in budgeting and financial management.
  • Strong project management skills, with an ability to prioritize, oversee and implement multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Required Education And Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, or Management Information Systems
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT leadership.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, AWS, PMP, etc.) are a plus but are not necessarily required.
