Director of Operations / Sr. General Manager – Upscale Casual Restaurant

$100,000 - $110,000 + Bonus

Your Role with the Company

The Director of Ops / Sr. General Manager serves as the face of the restaurant, setting the standard for hospitality and guest service. This leader acts as a role model for the team, ensuring that every guest enjoys an exceptional experience and that no request goes overlooked. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead, develop, train, and motivate staff to provide the highest level of guest service
  • Ensure that all restaurant policies, procedures, standards, specifications, guidelines, and training programs are followed and completed in a timely basis
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to ensure that food is prepared and presented in an acceptable manner
  • Control cash and all other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures
  • Investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
  • Monitor budgets and payroll records and review financial transactions to ensure that expenditures are authorized and budgeted
  • Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services, such as waste removal and pest control
  • Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, make hiring and termination decisions, and evaluate employee performance

Your Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4+ years as a Director of Operations or Sr. General Manager (or comparable role) for a high volume ($8M+) upscale full-service casual restaurant
  • Able to prioritize people engagement, teaching, mentorship, and staff growth through guidance and feedback
  • Passionate about hospitality, guest service, and team development through mentorship and feedback
  • Proficient in financial management, including P&L oversight and understanding of business operations
  • Experienced in managing systems and upholding operational standards
